Robotic assisted Laparoscopic partial Nephrectomy for suspected Renal Cell Carcinoma: Retrospective review of surgical outcomes of 35 Cases
نویسندگان
چکیده
BACKGROUND A standard of care for the treatment of small renal masses is partial nephrectomy. The open and laparoscopic approaches have been well described in the literature. Robotic assistance may augment partial nephrectomy by aiding in dissection and renal reconstruction. In this communication we describe the surgical outcomes of 35 patients undergoing robotic partial nephrectomy. METHODS Patient records and databases were reviewed for 35 consecutive patients undergoing RPN. Clinical, pathological, and radiographic data were obtained. The data was deidentified. RESULTS Thirty five patients successfully underwent RPN. An additional 2 patients were converted to other nephron sparing procedures. Mean tumor size was 2.8 cm, and mean OR time was 142 minutes. Mean warm ischemia time was 20 minutes. All margins were negative. There were 4 complications, and no patients required reoperation. CONCLUSION Robotic partial nephrectomy can produce excellent initial results. Further studies should be performed to compare the outcomes to laparoscopic and open operations.

BACKGROUND Minimally invasive surgical techniques have revolutionized the surgical management of kidney cancer. Current evidence suggests that the surgical developments gained by traditional laparoscopy have been advanced by the robotic platform, particularly as it has been applied to techniques for nephron preservation. METHODS The medical literature from peer-reviewed journals was reviewed ...

AIM To visit the operative technique and to review the current published English literature on the technique, and outcomes following robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RPN). MATERIALS AND METHODS We searched the published English literature and the PubMed(()) for published series of 'robotic partial nephrectomy' (RPN) using the keywords; robot, robot-assisted laparoscopic partia...
متن کاملLaparoscopic management of kidney cancer: updated review.
BACKGROUND Laparoscopy has emerged as the preferred option for the surgical management of kidney cancer. Although many reports have been published regarding the operative outcome of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and upper-tract transitional cell carcinoma (TCCA) treated laparoscopically, few review the oncologic outcome of these pathologies treated with laparoscopic techniques. METHODS We review...
متن کاملFrequency of capsular invasion and prenephric fat infiltration in renal cell carcinoma after partial nephrectomy
Background and Objective: Nowadays, partial nephrectomy (PN) has specific indications in renal tumors. There are challenges regarding the remaining and seeding of malignant cells after surgery due to increasing tendency to do laparoscopic PN (LPN) and consequently increased manipulation of the surrounding tumor tissue. The objective of this study is to investigate the frequency of renal capsule...
متن کاملComputer-assisted robotic renal surgery.
Computer-assisted robotic renal surgery (CARRS) is a minimally invasive surgical treatment option for renal tumors. We review the literature regarding techniques and outcomes and the potential advantages of CARRS. We retrospectively reviewed the literature regarding techniques and outcomes of CARRS, with specific analysis on robotic radical nephrectomy (RRN) and robotic partial nephrectomy (RPN...
